Mahigit 120,000 pang OFWs naghihintay ng kanilang repatriation

Mayroon pang 126,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) ang naghihintay ng kanilang repatriation matapos silang maapektuhan ng pandemya ng COVID-19 sa bansang pinagtatrabahuhan.

Ayon kay Alice Visperas, director ng International Labor Affairs Bureau ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), kabilang sila sa mga OFW na humiling sa pamahalaan na ma-repatriate matapos silang mawalan ng trabaho.

Mayroon namang 82,000 na displaced Filipinos ang nagpasyang manatili sa mga bansa kung saan sila naroroon sa pag-asang makahahanap ng bagong trabaho.

Umabot na sa mahigit 550,000 pandemic-displaced OFWs, ang napauwi sa bansa mula nang magkaroon ng pandemya.

Sa susunod na taon, inaasahang aabot pa sa 80,000 na OFWs ang uuwi sa bansa.
