Dugtong buhay ng 2020 national budget, Bayanihan 2 aprubado sa Senado

Inaprubahan na rin ng Senado ang mga panukala para mapalawig pa ang paggamit ng pondo na nakapaloob sa 2020 national budget at Bayanihan to Recover as One Act o Bayanihan 2.

Si Committee on Finance Chair Sonny Angara ang naglatag sa plenaryo para sa mga panukala na palawigin ang bisa ng 2020 General Appropriations gayundin ang Bayanihan 2 hanggang sa June 30 ng susunod na taon.

Sinabi ni Angara na magagasta pa ng gobyerno ang may kabuuang P148 bilyon na nakapaloob sa dalawang batas.

Sa datos ng Budget Department, may P110 bilyon pa sa 202) GAA ang hindi pa nagagalaw, kasama ang P60.7 bilyon ng DepEd.

Gayundin, P38 bilyon na nakapaloob sa Bayanihan 2.

“Allowing these appropriations to lapse amid a pandemic and a recession would have no small impact. If the availability and validity of the appropriations are not extended, vital projects, programs and services of the government would be hampered,” sabi ni Angara.

Dagdag pa niya, maaaring maapektuhan ang pagtugon ng gobyerno sa COVID-19 kung hindi mapapalawig ang paggasta sa mga pondo.

Naniniwala ang senador na malaking tulong din ang paggamit sa mga pondo sa pagbangon ng ekonomiya.
