ICC: Umano’y crimes against humanity sa war on drugs ng Duterte administration may reasonable basis
Nakitaan ng “reasonable basis” ng Office of the Prosecutor ng International Criminal Court (ICC) na nagkaroon ng crimes against humanity sa war on drugs ng Duterte administration.
Ayon kay ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda, may risonableng basehan ang impormasyong inihain sa ICC tungkol sa posibilidad na nagkaroon ng crimes against humanity of murder, torture, seriuos physical injury at mental harm sa Pilipinas sa pagitan ng July 1, 2016 hanggang March 16, 2019.
Sinabi ni Bensouda na maliban sa drug-related killings, ilang indbidwal din ang nakaranas ng serious ill-treatment at pang-aabuso bago sila pinatay.
Batay sa mga report, may mga insidente din na may ginahasa pa ang mga otoridad na mga babae dahil sa pagkakaroon umano nila ng relasyon sa mga taong sangkot sa illegal drug trade.
“Overall, most of the victims of the alleged crimes in question were persons reportedly suspected by authorities to be involved in drug activities, that is, individuals allegedly involved in the production, use, or sale (either directly or in support of such activities) of illegal drugs, or in some cases, individuals otherwise considered to be associated with such persons,” ayon sa ICC.
Ayon pa kay Bensouda karamihan sa mga tinarget ay nasa drug watch lists ng national o local authorities.
Ang iba namang tinarget ay mga dati nang sumuko sa ilalim ng “Oplan Tokhang.”
