Hybrid election system sa bansa, isinulong ni Sen. Marcos

Inindorso na ni Senator Imee Marcos ang pagkakaroon ng hybrid election system sa bansa.

Ang committee report ng Committee on Electoral Reforms na pinamumunuan ni Marcos ay base sa Senate Bill No. 7 na inihain ni Senate President Vicente Sotto III.

Paliwanag ni Marcos, sa hybrid system ng pagdaraos ng halalan, magkakaroon ng mano-manong pagbibilang ng mga boto sa mga presinto at ito ay maaaring saksihan ng publiko bukod sa maaari ring i-record sa video ang pagbibilang.

“How do we know that our votes are counted correctly by a fully automated election system? We don’t,” diin ng senadora, “ each step of the election process must be open to scrutiny. Since 2010, we have given too much importance to speed and convenience at the expense of transparency.”

Pinuna nito, ang mga naging iregularidad sa pagbilang ng mga boto simula nang gamitin ang automated election system.

Nais din mabago ni Marcos ang paghahain ng certificates of candidacy mula Oktubre hanggang Disyembre para malimitahan lang sa disqualification at kamatayan ang substitution of candidates para hindi maantala ang pag-imprenta ng mga balota.
