COVID-19 response, No. 1 priority sa 2021 national budget – Sen. Sonny Angara

Tiniyak ni Senator Sonny Angara na nangunguna sa mga prayoridad sa P4.5 trillion 2021 national budget ang patuloy na pagresponde ng gobyerno sa pandemya dala ng COVID 19.

Ayon pa sa namumuno sa Senate Finance Committee, tiyak na may pondo para sa pagbili ng bakuna, testing, contact tracing at paggamot sa mga dinapuan ng coronavirus.

“In our budget deliberations, we went over all of the priorities set by the government and the requirements of the different departments and agencies. We also made sure that our recently-enacted laws would be funded so as not to render them irrelevant,” sabi ng senador.

Binanggit din nito na kabilang din sa mga napondohan sa pambansang pondo sa susunod na taon ang mga bagong naipasang panukala, tulad ng Doktor Para sa Bayan Act, karagdagang pondo para sa National Integrated Cancer Control Act, sa pagpapatupad ng Mental Health Act, at pondo para sa Free Internet Access in Public Places Act.

Dinagdagan din ang pondo ng DepEd dahil sa pagtaas sa P5,000 Chalk Allowance ng mga teaching personnel, gayundin para sa National ID System, Judges-at-Large Act, pagbuo sa Judicial Marshal Service, Philippine Innovation Act, Philippine Space Agency at National Commission of Senior Citizens.
