Seryoso ang Pilipinas sa pagbibigay prayoridad sa karapatang pantao ng bawat Filipino.
Sa mensahe ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa Human Rights Summit ng Department of Justice, sinabi nito na isa sa mga development goal ng Pilipinas ang pagtitiyak na hindi nalalabag ang karapatang pantao ng bawat isa.
“I welcome this summit as an effective platform for the international community to enhance collaboration in the protection and promotion of human rights,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Ipinagmalaki pa ng Pangulo na isa ang Pilipinas sa iilang bansa na lumagda sa world’s core human rights treaties.
“I am proud that the Philippines is one of the few countries that signed many of the world’s core human rights treaties. This affirms our serious commitment in honoring and fulfilling our treaty obligations and prioritizing the human rights agenda as a means to achieve our country’s sustainable development goals,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Pero ayon sa Pangulo, hindi pa rin magpapakampante ang Pilipinas at patuloy na pagsusumikapan na maayos na maipatutupad ang karapatang pantao ng bawat isa.
“I urge everyone to strengthen the multi-sectoral engagement that would foster a healthy human rights environment for all,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
