Malaking pondo para sa Risk Resiliency Program – Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation ng DSWD, iginiit

Pinaglalaan ni House Committee on Disaster Resilience Vice Chairman at Tingog Partylist Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez ang Kongreso na maglaan sa 2021 national budget ng mas malaking pondo para sa Risk Resiliency Program – Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (RRP-CCAM) ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Ayon sa kongresista, hindi dole-outs ang kailangan ng disaster survivors kundi paraan upang makabalik silang muli sa dating pamumuhay.

Bahagi ng risk resiliency program ng DSWD na magpatupad ng mga proyekto tulad ng temporary employment na makatutugon sa pangangailangan ng mga komunidad na vulnerable o lantad sa epekto ng climate change.

Halimbawa ng cash for work activities sa ilalim nito ay ang pagtatanim ng indigenous trees, communal o organic gardening, waterways dredging, canal de-clogging, community clean-up, pagtatayo ng palikuran, rehabilitasyon ng river banks at farm-to-market roads.

Pahayag ito ng mambabatas, kasunod ng ipinatupad na cash-for-work program ng Tingog Partylist katuwang ang DSWD kung saan nasa 100 residente ng Marikina ang nakinabang at napasahod ng P3,000 sa loob ng tatlong araw na paglilinis sa mga barangay na pinalubog ng Bagyong Ulysses.
