1,300 na bagong cell sites matatapos itayo ng Globe ngayong taon
Sa pagtatapos ng taong 2020, inaasahang makukumpleto ng Globe Telecom ang pagtatayo ng aabot sa 1,300 na bagong cell sites.
Ayon sa Globe sa pamamagitan ng Bayanihan to Recover as One Act at Joint Memorandum Circular 01 ng ARTA, DILG at iba pang concerned agencies, nakakuha ng 1,857 permits ang Globe para sa taong 2020.
“These permits allowed Globe to build 1,050 new sites to date and complete 10,876 upgrades to 4G/LTE,” ayon sa pahayag ng Globe.
Bago matapos ang kasalukuyang taon, inaasahang matatapos ang 1,300 pang bagong cell sites sa Lanao del Sur, Sultan Kudarat, Antique, Iloilo, Leyte, Palawan, Aklan, Maguindanao, Cotabato, Misamis Oriental, at Davao del Oro.
Magtatayo din ang Globe ng 600K broadband lines sa pagtataps ng taon na 55% na mas mataas kumpara noong nakaraang taon.
Ito ay para mapabuti pa ang network sa mga bahay lalo ngayong homebased ang pag-aaral at marami pa rin ang naka-work from home.
On track din ayon sa Globe ang rollout ng kanilang 5G.
Sa ngayon aabot sa 708 sites sa bansa na available na ang 5G.
“The rollout of 5G is also on track. To date, Globe has 708 sites making 5G available in 17 key cities in Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao. The telco expects to cover 80% of Metro Manila with 5G technology by the end of 2020,” dagdag pa ng Globe.
