Bilang ng na-repatriate na overseas Filipino, nasa 287,301 na

Patuloy pa rin ang repatriation efforts ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Mula December 1 hanggang 5 December 2020, napauwi ng kagawaran ang 9,981 overseas Filipinos, pinakamataas na naitalang datos sa loob ng limang araw simula July 2020.

Dahil dito, umabot na sa 287,301 ang kabuuang bilang ng repatriated overseas Filipinos.

Kabilang sa mga bagong nakauwi ang overseas Filipinos mula Middle East.

Narito ang bilang ng repatriates sa iba’t ibang rehiyon:
– 8,432 (84.48%) mula sa Middle East
– 843 (8.45%) mula sa Asia and the Pacific
– 706 (7.07%) mula sa Europe

Nakapagsagawa ng limang medical repatriations mula Bahrain, Japan, Oman, Russia, at Thailand.

Inasiste rin ng DFA ang pagbabalik-Pilipinas ng isang pamilya, kabilang ang dalawang menor de edad na anak mula sa Iraq, 11 distressed students sa Indonesia, at tatlong undocumented OFWs/trafficking victims sa Syria.

Tiniyak naman ng DFA na handa silang umasiste sa  distressed overseas Filipinos na nais nang umuwi ng Pilipinas.
