Dating abogado ni Pangulong Duterte itinalaga bilang Overall Deputy Ombudsman
Hinirang ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang kaniyang dating abogado bilang Overall Deputy Ombudsman sa Office of the Ombudsman.
Kinumpirma ng Malakanyang ang pagtatalaga ng pangulo kay Warren Rex Hernandez Liong.
Pitong taon ang termino ni Liong sa pwesto.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, kumpiyansa ang palasyo na pahahalagahan ni Liong ang transparency, accountability at efficiency sa kaniyang panunungkulan sa pwesto.
“The challenges may be enormous but we are hopeful that Mr. Liong is up to the task to accomplish his mandate,” ani Roque.
Si Liong ay nagsilbing legal consultant ni Duterte mula 2010 hanggang 2013 sa Davao City.
Naging pinuno din siya ng leagal department ng PhilHealth sa Davao noong 2016.
Bago maluklok sa Ombudsman, siya ay board member sa Philippine Reclamation Authority.
