Mga toll plaza, handa na para sa 100-percent cashless transactions

Tiniyak ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) at Toll Regulatory Board (TRB), katuwang ang partner toll concessionaires, na handa na ang toll plazas para sa implementasyon ng 100-percent cashless transactions sa tollways simula sa December 1, 2020.

Sa virtual press briefing, inihayag ng transport officials, sa pamumuno nina DOTr Asssistant Secretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure Mark Steven Pastor, TRB Executive Director (ED) Abraham Sales, kasama ang Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, Skyway O&M Corporation, Manila Toll Expressway Systems, Star Tollways Corporation and Ayala-MCX, ang estado ng installation ng radio frequency identification (RFID) stickers.

Ayon sa TRB ED Sales, patuloy pa rin ang pag-audit ng lahat ng expressways para tutukan ang RFID installations.

Batay sa huling datos hanggang November 22, umabot na sa 3.2 milyon ang bilang ng RFIDs na naikabit sa mga sasakyan.

Nasa 1.8 milyon RFIDs naman ang naikabit simula nang ilabas ang Department Order 2020-012 na nagdedeklara ng mandatory na pagsasagawa ng cashless o contactless payment transactions sa tollways.

Samantala, hanggang November 24, nakapagtala ang TRB ng daily RFID sticker installation capacity na 30,000 sa AutoSweep at EasyTrip toll systems.

“Today, we can say that we are ready to implement ‘yung Department Order 2020-12 o ‘yung tinatawag na cashless and contactless toll transaction. 100% po, we are ready to implement that, with the support and full cooperation of the operators,” pahayag ni Sales.

Matatandaang mula sa November 2, inurong ang mandatory implementation ng cashless transactions sa tollways sa December 1, 2020.

Layon ng naturang hakbang na mabigyan ng sapat na panahon ang mga motorista na makapagpakabit ng RFID stickers sa kanilang mga sasakyan.
