Sen. Drilon, may kaba sa ahensiya na bibili ng bakuna kontra COVID-19
Hiniling ni Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon na masilip ng Senado ang Philippine International Trading Center (PITC).
Ayon kay Drilon, aabot sa P9.6 bilyon ang ‘utang’ ng PITC sa AFP dahil sa mga proyekto at kagamitan na hindi naidedeliver simula noong 2017.
“I think Senator Lacson would agree with me that there should be a more detailed examination of this setup. I am appalled that P9.6 billion at least is in PITC’s hands. The money is sleeping there,” ayon kay Drilon.
Dagdag pa nito, “I am confident that the Senate President and the Senate Majority Leader will support this move, because this is something that is really unusual.”
Binanggit din nito ang ulat ng Commission on Audit na ang PITC ay may balanse na aabot sa P9.1 bilyon sa iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno, kasama na ang PNP.
Ipinagtataka din nito, bakit kumukuha ng komisyon ang PITC sa mga ahensiya at hindi sa nagbenta ng mga kagamitan o serbisyo.
Inihayag ni Drilon ang pagkabahala sa isyu sa PITC dahil ang ahensiya ang bibili ng bakuna laban sa COVID-19.
Ang PITC ay nasa ilalim ng pangangasiwan ng DTI at pinamumunuan ni Dave Almarinez.
