February 2016, record breaking sa init

Ganito inilarawan ng National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) ang dinanas na sobrang init ng Earth noong nakaraang buwan na tila ba isang matinding babala na mas tumitindi ang climate change.

Hindi lang ito basta karugtong ng 10 buwang sunud-sunod na pagbasag sa global heat records na bunsod ng matinding El Niño at ng man-made global warming.

Labis kasing nalampasan ng February 2016 ang mga records na naitala mula nang umpisahan ng mga meteorologists ang pag-babantay sa init ng mundo noong 1880.

Dahil dito, ang February 2016 ang naitalang pinaka-‘above normal’ na buwan kung init lang naman ang pag-uusapan.

Ayon sa NASA, umabot sa 13.38 degrees Celsius ang buwan ng February, na 2.18 degrees Celsius na mas mataas sa naunang record na naitala noong February 2015.

Sinabi pa ng NOAA climate scientist na si Jessica Blunden na lahat ng records sa lupa, karagatan at lower at middle atmosphere ay nasira ng February 2016.
