P0.5-B napautang ng Land Bank sa 12 educational institutions

Umabot na sa kalahating bilyong piso ang napahiram ng Land Bank sa 12 educational institutions para sa pagpapatupad ng ‘study now, pay later’ plans sa mga estudyante sa gitna ng pandemya.

Sa ulat sa Department of Finance, sa kasalukuyan, may 12 eskuwelahan pa ang nag-apply para makahiram ng pera sa Land Bank at pinoproseso na ang kanilang aplikasyon sa ilalim ng Access to Academic Development to Empower Masses towards Endless Opportunities (ACADEME).

Sinabi pa ni Land Bank President Cecilia Borromeo na may 14 pang eskuwelahan ang magsusumite ng requirements para makautang.

“Lending units nationwide continue to work closely with applicant-schools to complete their requirements as we process a pipeline of loan applications with approvals at various levels based on amount,” ayon kay Borromeo sa kanyang ulat kay Finance Sec. Carlos Dominguez III.

Bukod sa ACADEME, inaalok din ng Land Bank ang Interim Students’ Loan for Tuition towards Upliftment of Education for the Development of the Youth o I-STUDY, isang loan program para naman sa mga magulang, guardians at benefactors para patuloy nilang mapag-aral ang kanilang mga estudyante.

Inilunsad ng bangko ang ACADEME noong Mayo, na may pondong ng P3 bilyon, para makahiram ng pera ang private high schools, private technical-vocational education training institutions, colleges at universities, at tatagal ito hanggang Hunyo sa susunod na taon.
