P8.9-B kailangan ng DepEd para sa nawasak na public schools

Sa pagtataya ng Department of Education (DepEd), mangangailangan ng P8.9 bilyon para maayos ang lahat ng mga pampublikong paaralan na napinsala ng mga magkakasunod na bagyo.

Base sa datos mula sa Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Service ng kagawaran, P5.2 bilyon ang kailangan para sa mga nasirang paaralan nang manalasa ang bagyong Rolly at P3.7 bilyon naman ang halaga ng pinsala na idinulot ng bagyong Ulysses.

Nilinaw naman ng DepEd na ang halaga ay sasailalim para sa ‘validation and verification.’

Umabot sa 1,190 ang napinsalang public schools ng bagyong Ulysses.

Ang bilang ay nasa ilalim ng 67 schools divisions sa Cordillera, Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA at Bicol Regions at sa Metro Manila.
