Ultimatum sa NGCP inihirit ni Sen. Win Gatchalian sa ERC
Hinimok ni Senator Sherwin Gatchalian ang Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) na isyuhan na ng ultimatum ang National Grid Corporation of the Phils. (NGCP) para sumunod sa requirement na mag-alok ng ‘shares of stock.’
Ito, ayon kay Gatchalian, nakasaad sa prangkisa ng transmission system operator ng bansa.
Noong Agosto naghain ng motion for reconsideration ang NGCP para bigyan pa sila ng isang taon para makasunod sa initial public offering (IPO) requirement matapos na rin ibasura ang kanilang petisyon noong Abril.
Pag-amin ni Gatchalin may pagdududa siya sa hindi pagtugon ng NGCP at aniya walang paramdam ang transmission operator na susunod talaga ito sa requirement.
“The resolution is absolute. Within six months NGCP should be conducting an IPO but I’m very sure that’s not going to happen. So if that will not happen what is the recourse?” tanong ng senador.
Sinabi na ni ERC Chair Agnes Devanadera na may dalawang opsyon ang NGCP para makasunod sa IPO requirement, una ay sa pamamagitan ng public listing at ang isa ay sa pamamagitan naman ng holding company.
