Philippine Red Cross pinaghihinay-hinay ng Malakanyang sa paniningil ng utang sa PhilHealth

Nakikiusap ang Palasyo ng Malakanyang sa Philippine Red Cross (PRC) na maghinay hinay sa paniningil sa utang ng PhilHealth.

Pahayag ito ng Palasyo matapos sabihin ni Red Cross Chairman at Senador Richard Gordon na dapat na bayaran ang natitirang kahalating bilyong pisong utang para maging maayos muli ang COVID-19 swab test sa mga umuuwing overseas Filipino worker.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, may nakatabing pondo ang PhilHealth na pambayad utang pero kailangan muna ng submission of requirements alinsunod sa audit regulations ng Commission on Audit (COA).

Kailangan din aniyang hintayin muna ang legal opinion ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na ngayon ay nagsasagawa pa ng pag-aaral sa kasunduan ng PhilHealth at Red Cross.

Sinabi pa ni Roque na mismong si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na ang nangako sa Red Cross na babayaran ang utang ng PhilHealth bastat ituloy lamang ang swab test sa mga OFW.
