Sen. Ralph Recto: Dagdag isang araw sa pagboto, dagdag P2B
Dodoble ang P1 bilyon pagtataya ng Comelec na gagastusin para sa karagdagang isang araw na pagboto sa May 2022 presidential elections.
Ito ang pagtatantiya ni Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto at aniya ang malaki sa madadagdag na gastusin ay mapupunta lang sa honorarium pa lang ng mga guro.
Una nang inihayag ng Comelec ang kanilang plano na magtalaga ng 110,000 clustered precints para sa eleksyon sa May 2022 mula sa 85,768 noong 2019 national elections.
Sinabi ni Recto na P19,000 kada presinto ang gastos sa bayad pa lang sa board of election chairperson, poll clerk at 3rd member.
Payo niya Comelec mag-isip na ng ilalatag na contingency plan sakaling umabot pa hanggang sa susunod na pambansang eleksyon ang banta ng COVID 19.
“Just the same, let us be prepared. Let us also plan in advance, make studies on how, for example, mail voting can be exercised by the disabled, elderly and the sick. Hindi para sa susunod na election pero baka two or three cycles in the future,” aniya.
