Pilipinas pasok sa Top 10 telco worldwide investments
Kabilang ang Pilipinas sa Sampung mga nangungunang bansa sa mundo pagdating sa pamumuhunan sa larangan ng telekomunikasyon batay sa IMD World Digital Competitiveness Rankings of 2020.
Nabatid na tumataas ang pamumuhunan para sa pagpapahusay ng telecommunications infrastracture dahil sa demand para sa connectivity at internet access na mahalagang kabahagi ng new normal.
Dahil dito, pinalawak ng Globe at dinagdagan ang pagpapatayo ng kanilang cell towers at fiber modernization para paiksiin ang patlang sa mga lugar na nangangailangan ng maayos na komunikasyon.
Hindi bababa sa P50.3 billion capital expenditures ang inilaan para sa Globe’s network expansion at upgrades ngayong 2020.
“It’s been a number of years that the country has been over-indexing other countries when it comes to capital expenditures. For 2019, our CAPEX to revenue ratio is about 34%. We expect to continue with the investments because of the increasing demand for our services,” saad ni Ernest Cu, president at chief executive officer ng Globe.
Nakatutok umano ang investments sa telecom infrastructimure sa pagpapatayo ng dagdag na mga torre upang mapalawak ang kanilang coverage at kapasidad lalo’t niluwagan na ng gobyerno ang mga patakaran sa pagkuha ng mga permit.
Ang pagdagdag naman ng fiber connections sa mga bahay-bahay ay isa pang uri ng investment opportunity para mabigyan ang mga kostumer ng mas maayos na data experience.
Nabatid din sa ulat ng IMD World Digital Competitiveness Rankings of 2020, ang mga bansa na may mahusay na infrastructure ay mas mataas ang tsansa na maibsan ang impact ng pandemya sa kanilang ekonomiya.
“With better, faster, accessible and affordable services, more opportunities will be made available to our people. These opportunities will then be translated to a more stable and stronger economy that hopefully will give the Philippines a better spot in World Digital Competitiveness rankings in the future,” dagdag ni Cu.
