260 na estudyanteng Pinoy na na-stranded sa Israel nakabalik na sa bansa

Nakauwi na sa bansa ang aabot sa 260 na mga estudyante na na-stranded sa Israel.

Sila ay pawang mga mag-aaral mula sa 30 State Universities and Colleges na sumailalim sa Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP) sa Israel at naabutan doon ng pandemic ng COVID-19.

Sa inilabas na pahayag ng Commission on Higher Education (CHED), nakauwi sa bansa ang mga estudyante sa pakikipagtulungan sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) at Department of Transportation (DOTr).

Sumailalim sa 11 international internship/training ang mga estudyante sa ilalim ng study program ng Israel.

Noong Hulyo, sinuspinde ng CHED ang pagsasagawa ng foreign internships dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.

Ayon sa CHED, mayroon pang nalalabing 339 na estudyante sa Israel na kailangang iuwi sa bansa.

Ang 260 na naunang nakauwi ay pansamantalang mananatili sa University Pad sa Maynila para sa mandatory quarantine habang hinihintay ang resulta ng kanilang swab test.
