P1.5-M halaga ng mga armas, nasamsam ng BOC-NAIA
Nasamsam ng Bureau of Customs – NAIA ang 28 parcels ng iba’t ibang armas, parte nito at accessories sa Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) sa Pasay City.
Ayon sa ahensya, tinatayang nagkakahalaga ito ng P1.5 milyon.
Dadalhin ang firearms, parts at accessories sa Enforcement and Security Service-Firearms and Exposive Office (ESS-FEO) para sa nakabinbing seizure at forfeiture proceedings.
Ire-refer din ang case records sa Bureau Action Team Against Smugglers (BATAS) at Legal Service para sa mas malalim na imbestigasyo, case build up at prosecution sa importers dahil sa paglabag sa Section 1401 (Unlawful Importation) ng Republic Act No. 10863 (CMTA) na may koneksyon sa Republic Act No. 10591 o “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.”
Tiniyak naman ni District Collector Carmelita Talusan sa publiko na sa kabila ng COVID-19 pandemic, nananatiling nakatutok ang BOC-NAIA sa pagprotekta laban sa lahat ng fraudulent at illegal attempts.
