Ayon sa Phivolcs, tumama ang episentro ng lindol sa layong 9 kilometers Northeast ng City of Maasin dakong 3:19 ng hapon.
Tectonic ang origin nito at dalawang kilometro ang lalim.
Gayunman, sinabi ng Phivolcs na walang napaulat na pinsala sa City of Maasin at mga karatig-bayan.
Wala ring inaasahang aftershocks matapos ang pagyanig.
