Tulong ni Deputy Speaker Duterte hiniling ni Marinduque Rep. Velasco
Nagpapatulong kay Deputy Speaker Paolo Duterte si Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco upang maluklok na House Speaker.
Ayon sa isang malapit sa batang Duterte, nakipag-usap si Velasco kay Pulong upang ikampanya ito sa mga kapwa kongresista.
Gayunman sa isang statement na ipinost ni Pulong sa viber group ng mga kongresista sinabi nito na hindi siya makiki-alam sa banggaan nina Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano at Velasco.
Sinabi ni Duterte na parehong kaibigan niya ang dalawa at ayaw niya na mayroong paboran sa mga ito.
“As I am all for a unified House, and given the value I place in every member of Congress, I refuse to make any statement that will favor or damage either of my two good friends who are both asserting their right to be our Speaker,” ani Duterte.
Hindi rin anya maikaka-ila ang term-sharing agreement kaya mayroong karapatan si Velasco na igiit ang pag-upo bilang Speaker pero hindi rin umano maitatanggi ang suporta ng maraming kongresista kay Cayetano.
Umaasa si Duterte na kung darating man ang panahon na kailangang magbotohan ang mapili ng mga kongresista ay ang nararapat na lider na makakatuwang sa pagpapa-unlad ng mga distrito at muling mapagiisa ang Kamara de Representantes.
“And when we do make that decision, I hope we can find it in our hearts to vote for someone, not just for convenience or affiliation, but whom we feel strongly can represent the House with the dignity that it deserves,” saad pa Duterte.
Umaasa rin si Duterte na igagalang at susuportahan ng mga kongresista kung sinuman ang manalo.
