AF Payments magbibigay ng 125,000 na libreng Beep cards sa mga commuter ng EDSA Busway

Pumayag ang kumpanyang AF Payments Inc. (AFPI) na magbigay ng 125,000 na libreng Beep cards sa mga commuter sa EDSA Busway.

Pahayag ito ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) kasunod ng utos ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na siguruhing libre ang Beep cards para sa mga commuter.

Nagpasalamat ang DOTr sa AFPI sa pagtugon sa panawagan ng pamahalaan na ilibre ang Beep card at ikunsidera ang nauna nilang pasya.

“We appreciate the plan of AFPI to set aside the prospect of profit for the meantime, to answer the call of need from our commuters and to give them free beep cards until a QR-based electronic ticketing system becomes operational,” ayon sa DOTr.

Kasabay nito, ipinaliwanag ng DOTr, na ang paggamit ng QR code-based electronic ticketing system sa EDSA Busway ay matagal nang bahagi ng plano ng ahensya para sa cashless transactions.

Sinabi ng DOTr, na bago pa magkaroon ng pandemic ng COVID-19 ay kasama na ito sa mga opsyon.
