Pagkakasangkot ni Duque sa anomalya sa PhilHealth, dapat pag-aralan ng DOJ

Hinimok ng ilang mga kongresista ang Department of Justice (DOJ) na alamin ang kaugnayan ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III sa sinasabing anomalya sa Philippine Health Insurance Corporation o PhilHealth.

Sa joint hearing ng House Committee on Public Accounts at Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, sinabi ni Surigao Del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers na tinatakasan ni Duque ang responsibilidad bilang chairman ng PhilHealth board.

Lagi aniyang sinasabi ni Duque na hindi siya dumalo sa isang partikular na meeting o kaya naman ay hindi lumagda sa kwestyunableng dokumento.

Giit ni Barbers, maituturing na pagpapabaya sa tungkulin ang mga aksyon ng kalihim kaya maaari rin itong masampahan ng kasong administratibo.

Sabi ni Barbers, “This clearly is an evasion of responsibility of being the chairman of the board.”

Sabi naman ni Cavite Rep. Jesus Crispin Remulla, si Duque ang pinakamatagal na opisyal ng state health insurer bukod sa mga executive officer na ngayon ay Senior Vice Presidents.

Paano aniya hindi naging responsable ang chairman of the board ng PhilHealth sa mga katiwalian sa ahensya.

Ani Remulla, “Lagi mo bang sasabihing executive officers lang o yung taong matagal na matagal na nandyan na alam ang lahat ng kalokohan pinapabayaan lang. By default, it’s him.”
