Isang kumpanya at 14 na katao kinasuhan sa Baguio City dahil sa paglalabas ng identity ng mga COVID-19 patient

Nahaharap sa kaso ang labingapat na katao at isang kumpanya makaraang i-leak ang identity ng mga COVID-19 patients sa Baguio City.

Ayon kay Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, inihain ang joint complaint-affidavit sa City Prosecutor’s Office para sa paglabag sa Section 9 of Republic Act 11332 o Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act in relation to Republic Act 10175 o Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

Ang naghain ng reklamo ay ang 12 mga naging pasyente ng COVID-19.

Kabilang sa mga inireklamo ang mga sumusunod:
– Jhonalyn Mapili a.k.a. “Hugot Igorota” – Lloyd Tabcao
– Marina Y. Martin
– Myles Ortega Delos Reyes
– Vinz Wayang
– Jenelyn Inyoh a.k.a. “Jenny Nicole Reign”
– Precy Esteban
– Thess Delizo Abellera
– Juvy Cornel Sunia a.k.a. “Juzz Juvy”
– Heral B. Alinao
– Angielica Estepa Gumabay
– Mt. Province Broadcasting Corporation
– Genelyn L. Gacawen
– Precy B. Manangan Hetherington
– Joey Rejesus

Batay sa reklamo, lumitaw sa imbestigasyon ng Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit ng Cordillera na noong July 25, ibinahagi ng naturang mga respondents sa kanilang Facebook accounts ang pangalan, edad, address at trabaho ng mga COVID-19 patients.

Sinabi sa reklamo na walang otorisasyon mula sa mga pasyente ang ginawang pagbahagi ng kanilang identification.

Humihiling ng P200,000 kada isa para sa “moral damages, anxiety, depression at sleepless nights” ang mga nagreklamong COVID-19 patient.
