2022 elections kailagang ituloy kahit may COVID-19 pandemic

Wala sinumang opisyal ng bansa kahit pa ang pangulo ng Pilipinas ng makapagpapasyang kanselahin ang eleksyon.

Reaksyon ito ni dating Commission on Elections Commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal kasunod ng panukalang kanselahin ang halalan dahil sa pandemya ng COVID-19.

Ayon kay Larrazabal, kahit pa si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at ang Kongreso ay hindi pwedeng magdeklara ng kanselasyon ng halalan.

Tanging ang taumbayan aniya sa pamamagitan ng pagsasagawa ng national electoral exercise ang makakapagkansela ng eleksyon.

Sinabi din ni Larrazabal na hindi dahilan ang pagkakaroon ng COVID-19 pandemic para hindi ituloy ang 2022 elections.

Katunayan, mahigit 30 bansa na aniya sa mundo ang nakapagsagawa ng eleksyon ngayong taon kahit mayroong pandemya.
