Sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon, nakapagpatakbo na ng 22 train sets sa Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3).
Ayon sa pamunuan ng MRT-3, naisagawa ito simula sa araw ng Lunes, September 21, 2020.
Ayon kay MRT-3 Director for Operations Michael Capati, prayoridad ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) na maparami pa ang tumatakbong train sets upang makapagbigay ng mas maayos na serbisyo sa mga pasahero.
“The increase of running train sets is a main priority of the DOTr and MRT-3 to give our passengers the best and most efficient service they can experience. This is also a testament of Secretary Arthur Tugade’s genuine commitment to provide high-quality service for the riding public,” pahayag ni Capati.
“The passengers can expect better MRT-3 experience once the massive rehabilitation is finished in July 2021z New rails are being installed as part of the rail rehabilitation project and LRVs are being overhauled which can be added to the mainline,” dagdag pa nito.
Kabilang sa naging operational sa linya ng MRT-3 ang 19 CKD train sets at tatlong Dalian train sets.
Sinabi ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) na ang deployment ng nasabing bilang ng tren ay makatutulong para mabawasan ang waiting interval sa pagitan ng mga tren.
Maliban dito, tataas din ang bilang ng maisasakay na pasahero ng MRT-3.
Sa nakalipas na tatlong buwan o simula nang bumalik ang public transportation noong June 1, walang naitalang unloading incident sa nasabing linya ng tren.
Patuloy din ang istriktong pagpapatupad ng health and safety protocols sa loob ng tren tulad ng pagsunod sa isang metrong physical distancing, pagsusuot ng face shield at face mask, hindi pagkain, pagsasalita at pagsagot ng tawag sa cellphone.
