18 rainwater collectors, inilagay sa Biliran

Naglagay ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ng 18 rainwater harvesting faciliites sa iba’t ibang paaralan at government buildings sa Biliran Province.

Layon nitong matipid ang water resources sa nasabing probinsya.

“We are harvesting rainwater that can be used for a number of purposes, but mainly as a low to zero cost source of water to flush toilets and water plants of these receiving buildings,” pahayag ni DPWH Secretary Mark Villar.

Nagkakahalaga ng P4.5 million ang inilagay na rainwater collector systems.

Anim na rainwater collectors ang itinayo sa munisipalidad ng Biliran, lima sa bayan ng Mariripi, tig-tatlo sa Culaba at Almeria habang isa naman sa Naval.

Kasama rin sa nasabing proyekto ang Biliran Province State University, Biliran Campus, Biliran Science High School, Busali Elementary School, Burabod Elementary School, Pinangomhan Elementary School at DPWH Field Office.

Nagkaroon na rin ng rainwater collectors Barangay Hall ng Binongto-an village, Barangay Hall ng Ermita village, Canduhao Elementary School and Rural health Unit (RHU) at Philippine National Police (PNP) office sa bayan ng Mariripi.

Sa Culaba, kabilang sa mga nagkaroon ng rainwater collector ang Acaban Elementary School, Bool Elementary School at San Roque Elementary School; Matanggo Elementary School, Talahid Elementary School at Pili Elementary School sa bayan ng Almeria; at Sabang Elementary School sa munisipalidad ng Naval.
