Kauna-unahang Pinoy na mayor sa England, pumanaw sa edad na 58
Pumanaw na ang kauna-unahang Pinoy na naging alkalde sa England.
Pumanaw si Cynthia Barker, 58 anyos na mayor sa Hertsmere, isang local government district sa Hertfordshire, England.
Ang pagpanaw ni Barker ay kinumpirma sa Facebook post ng kaniyang kapatid na si Gene Alcantara.
Ayon kay Alcantara “serious illness” ang dahilan ng pagpanaw ni Barker.
Sinabi ni Alcantara na maglalabas sila ng dagdag na impormasyon sa susunod na mga araw, pero sa ngayon, humihiling ng privacy ang kanilang pamilya.
Noong 2015, si Barker ay naging kauna-unahang Pinoy na nahalal bilang town councillor sa Elstree at Borehamwood.
Na-releect siya sa Hertsmere para maging kinatawan ng Borehamwood Kenilworth noong May 2019.
At naitalaga bilang mayor noong June 2020.
