NIA kumuha ng 100 katao para magsagawa ng cloud-seeding operation sa Pantabangan Dam

Kumuha ng 100 katao ang National Irrigation Administration (NIA) para magsagawa ng cloud-seeding operation upang madagdagan ang water level sa Pantabangan Dam sa Nueva Ecija.

Ang mga kinuhang “spotters” ay inatasan kumuha ng real-time photos ng ulap sa kani-kanilang mga lugar gamit ang global positioning system (GPS) at enhanced mobile phones.

Ayon kay Rosalinda Bote, department manager ng NIA-Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation System (NIA-Upriis), ang mga larawan ay ipadadala sa Bureau of Soils and Water Management ng Department of Agriculture para isailalim sa “assessment”.

Hanggang alas 6:00 ng umaga kanina ay nasa 182.45 meters ang water level sa Pantabangan dam.

Ang normal high water level nito ay 216 meters.

Inaprubahan na ni NIA Administrator Ricardo Visaya ang pagsasagawa ng cloud-seeding operation sa dam.

Naglaan ng P2.64 million mula sa calamity fund para sa nasabing operasyon.
