Pagpapatupad ng Universal Health Care Law, prayoridad ng DOH sa 2021
Ang implementasyon ng Universal Health Care Law at mga may kinalaman sa COVID-19 response ang prayoridad ng Department of Health (DOH) sa susunod na taon.
Sa ilalim ng panukalang P204 bilyong budget ng DOH, 62 porsyento ay mapupunta sa DOH-Office of the Secretary na nasa P127.29 bilyon habang 35 porsyento naman ng pondo ng ahensya ay mapupunta sa PhilHealth na nasa P71.35 bilyon.
Nakapaloob sa budget ng DOH-OSEC ay P51.99 bilyon ang ilalaan para sa pagpapatupad ng UHC at COVID-19 Initiatives.
Sa P38.96 bilyon na budget sa UHC implementation, P16.58 bilyon ang ilalaan para sa deployment ng nasa 23,364 na doctors, nurses, midwives, dentists, pharmacists, medical technologists, nutritionists-dietitians, at physical therapists gayundin ng pagbibigay ng 3,492 na scholarship grants.
Kasama din dito ang P4.78 bilyong alokasyon para sa procurement ng health facilities, equipment at ambulansya.
Sa P13.03 bilyon naman para sa COVID-19 initiatives, paglalaanan ng pondo dito ang pambili para sa COVID-19 vaccines, PPEs, COVID-19 cartridges, at iba pang mga hakbang at pagtugon ng ahensya laban sa coronavirus disease.
Mas mataas ng 27 porsyento ang budget ng DOH sa susunod na taon kumpara sa P176 bilyon sa taong 2020.
