Free online courses para sa Filipino Seafarers iniaalok ng DOLE
Para mapaghusay pa ang kakayahan ng mga Filipino seafarers nag-aalok ang gobyerno ng online maritime courses.
Bukod sa mga kurso para mapagbuti ang kanilang kahusayan at karunungan, nag-aalok din ang National Maritime Polytechnic o NMP ng personal safety courses, gaya ng STD/HIV/AIDS Prevention in Maritime Sector o SHAPIMS at Prevention of Alcohol and the Drug Abuse in the Maritime Sector o PADAMS.
Nasa ilalim ng pangangasiwa ng DOLE ang NMP.
Ayon kay NMP Executive Director Joel Maglunsod ang naturang programa ay ligtas na alternatibo sa classroom-based education at makakapag-aral sila sa kanilang sariling pamamahay, opisina o kahit sila ay naka-deploy sa barko.
Dagdag pa ni Maglunsod ang lahat na makakakumpleto ng online courses ay tatanggap ng Certificate of Completion
Sinabi pa ng opisyal na ang safety courses ay ginawa sa pakikipagtulungan sa International Labor Organization at United Nations Program on HIV / AIDS.
Nag-aalok din ng online course na Gender Sensitivity Training for Seafarers ang NMP.
Tatagal ang pag-aalok ng online courses hanggang sa Disyembre ng taon.
