Ayon sa ahensya, “The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is WARNING the public NOT TO ACCESS AND ENGAGE a malicious web page that uses a photo of a fake driver’s license of Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade as clickbait.”

Sabi ng DOTr, “By clicking on the said web page, users will be taken to a “Bitcoin Code” landing page where they will then be asked to give their names, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and passwords.”

“The DOTr and Secretary Tugade are in no way connected to the said web pages and are not endorsing them. The DOTr warns the public that any personal information that may be collected in the said malicious web page can be used for criminal purposes,” pahayag ng DOTr.

Payo ng ahensya, “The DOTr is encouraging the public to be extra careful in navigating the internet specially during this period of the pandemic when criminals are taking advantage of the stressful situation.”
