Cagayan provincial government nagpatupad ng total ban sa mga pork product

Nagpatupad ng total ban sa pagpasok sa lalawigan ng Cagayan ng mga buhay na baboy, fresh, frozen pork at processed pork products.

Sa bisa ng Executive Order No. 24 na nilagdaan ni Cagayan Gov. Manuel N. Mamba bawal ang pagpasok ng mga nabanggit na produkto na mula sa buong Region 2 at iba pang probinsya maging sa Ilocos.

Layon nitong matiyak na hindi makakalusot sa Cagayan ang sakit African Swine Fever o ASF.

Labingsiyam na bayan na sa Isabela ang apektado ng ASF ayon sa datos ng Department of Agriculture Region 2.

Pinapaigting na din ng Provincial Veterenary Office ang monitoring sa mga online sellers ng pork products dahil sa walang katiyakan kung saan galing ang karne ng baboy na ibinebenta sa online lalo na kung hindi nakarehistro sa Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
