Globe target makapagtayo ng 900 common tower sites sa bansa

Nakipagkasundo ang Globe Telecom sa mga independent tower companies para makapagtayo ng 900 common tower sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa.

Sa sandaling matukoy ang mga lugar, sinabi ng Globe na uusad na ang pagtatayo ng mga cell sites.

Kamakailan nakipagkasundo ang Globe sa Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc. (AIC), ISOC-edotco, Transcend Towers Infrastructure (Philippines), CREI Philippines (CREI) at Frontier Towers & Associates (FTA).

“The partnerships with towercos will greatly complement the company’s target in expanding its capacity and coverage throughout the country,” Ayon kay Globe chief finance officer Rizza Maniego-Eala.

Isinulong ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) ang paggamit sa mga independent tower builders upang mas mapabilis ang pagtatayo ng cell sites at upang mapagbuti ang network service sa bansa.

Sa ilalim nito, ang mga telco ay uupa ng slots para sa itatayong common towers.

Sa ngayon mayrong mahigit 20,000 cell sites sa bansa.

Target ng DICT na makapagtayo pa ng 50,000 bagong towers sa susunod na mga taon.

Ayon sa Globe, mayroon na silang pole lease agreement sa AIC para sa pagtatayo ng 200 sites sa Cebu, Davao at Subic.

Aabot din sa 300 macro sites ang itatayo sa North Luzon at South Luzon habang 400 sites pa sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao.

“These infrastructure partnerships demonstrate Globe’s commitment to improve the network quality experience of our customers. It is, likewise, highly supportive of the government’s initiative to increase ICT infrastructure in the country,” dagdag pa ni Maniego-Eala.
