10,000 medical frontliners nakinabang sa libreng toll sa mga expressway ng SMC

Umabot na sa mahigit 10,000 medical frontliners ang nakinabang sa libreng toll sa mga expressway na pag-aari ng San Miguel Corporation (SMC).

Simula nang umiral ang community quarantine dahil sa pandemic ng COVID-19, inilibre ng SMC ang mga medical frontliner sa bayarin sa toll sa mga expressway.

Umabot na sa P72.4 million ang halaga ng na-waive na toll fee.

Ang mga medical frontliner ay hindi sinisingil ng toll sa STAR tollway, South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Skyway system, NAIA Expressway, at sa Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX).

Kabilang sa sakop ng programa ang mga doktor, nurses, medical at laboratory technicians.

Ayon kay SMC President Ramon Ang, magpapatuloy ang serbisyo habang nahaharap sa pandemya ang bansa.

Pasasalamat aniya ito ng kumpanya sa dedikasyon, serbisyo at sakripisyo ng medical frontliners.

“It has been six months since we started the free toll program for medical front liners. Despite the worst and longest health and economic crisis we have experienced as a country, there is still much we have to be grateful for, thanks to the continued service, dedication, and sacrifices of our medical front liners,” ayon kay Ang.

Nangako si Ang na indefinite ang pagpapatupad ng libreng toll para sa medical health crisis ang bansa.

Maliban sa libreng toll, ang SMC ay nakapagbigay na ng P500 million na halaga ng assistance package sa mga ospital sa bansa.

Kabilang sa donasyon ay mga personal protective equipment; RT-PCR Test machines, fully-automated RNA Extraction machines at PCR test kits.

Dahil sa mga testing equipment na donasyon ng SMC, nadagdagan ng 15,000 ang COVID-19 testing capacity ng Pilipinas kada araw.
