UAAP, nagdesisyong i-ban ‘indefinitely’ si Aldin Ayo

Naglabas na ng desisyon ang University Athletic Association of the Philippines o UAAP ukol sa umano’y training bubble ng University of Santo Tomas (UST) Men’s Basketball Team.

Ito ay matapos i-review ng UAAP Board of Trustees ang mga rekomendasyon ng Board of Managing Directors.

Ibinase ang mga rekomendasyon sa ulat na isinumite ng UST matapos ang pag-iimbestiga sa umano’y training bubble ng kanilang basketball team sa Capuy, Sorsogon.

Sa buong deliberasyon, pinagtibay ng UAAP BOT ang desisyon ng BMD na i-ban ‘indefinitely’ si dating UST head coach Aldin Ayo sa lahat ng UAAP events at sanctioned-activities.

“The ban is based on the UST report that showed Ayo endangering the health and well-being of the student athletes under his charge when he conducted the training during a government-declared state of public emergency intended to arrest the COVID-19 outbreak,” pahayag ng UAAP.

Sinabi pa nito na magsasagawa ng imbestigasyon ang Commission on Higher Education (CHED) sa posibleng paglabag ng UST at iba pang indibidwal na posibleng sangkot sa naturang aktibidad.

“The association will follow these developments before discussing the next action on the case,” dagdag pa nito.
