Mas mataas na budget ng DND sa 2021, hiniling
Humiling ng mas mataas na budget ang Department of National Defense (DND) para sa susunod na taon.
Sa budget hearing ng Kamara, aabot sa P208.7 bilyon ang nais na pondo ng DND na mas mataas ng P16.96 bilyon o siyam na porsyento sa kanilang pondo sa taong 2020 na P191.7 bilyon.
Ayon kay Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, tumaas ang inilaang pondo sa Personnel Services na nasa P2.4 bilyon, Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) na P7.6 bilyon at Capital Outlay na nasa P6.89 bilyon.
Para sa 2021 budget, P96.8 bilyon ang pondo para sa Army, P29.8 bilyon naman sa Air Force habang P31.2 bilyon naman sa Navy.
Itataas naman sa P33 bilyon ang pondo para sa AFP modernization sa 2021 kung saan plano na makalagda ng 10 procurement contract para sa modernisasyon ng hukbong sandatahan.
