Palasyo, may payo sa MTRCB ukol sa hirit na regulatory powers sa Netflix

Pinayuhan ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang si Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) chairman Rachel Arenas na ikunsidera ang pahayag ni House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano na hindi na dapat na pagkaabalahan pa na i-regulate ang Netflix.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, panahon ng budget hearing kung kaya mahirap na balewalain ang pulso ng mga mambabatas.

“Ang aking suggestion lang po, sa panahon ng budget, Ma’am Rachel, mukhang mahirap baliwalain ang sinasabi ng Kongreso, lalong-lalo na kung ang nagsalita na po ay ang Speaker of the House. So, ang aking suggestion po, bagama’t hindi po nanghihimasok ang Presidente, hindi po nagma-micromanage ang ating Presidente, i-consider po ang mga suggestions ng ating mga mambabatas dahil sila naman po ang nagpopondo ng ating mga ahensiya. Katungkulan din nila na masigurado na nagagastos sa tama po ang pondo ng taumbayan,” pahayag ni Roque.

Pero ayon kay Roque, iginagalang ng Palasyo ang balak ni Arenas.

“Our suggestion po, evaluate carefully po lalong-lalo na yung sinabi ni Speaker Alan Cayetano na hindi na kinakailangang gawin ‘yan. But we respect and bow to your discretion,” pahayag ni Roque.
