Welcome sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang ang panukala ng Kamara na bigyan ng emergency power si Pangulong Rodrigo Duerte para maresolba ang korupsyon sa PhilHealth.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, nagpapasalamat ang Palasyo sa suporta ng lehislatura sa pagpupursige ni Pangulong Duterte na maisaayos ang bansa.
“Well we welcome the willingness of the House of Representatives to give such emergency powers to the President, “ pahayag ni Roque.
Pero ayon kay Roque, bilang may akda ng Universal Health Law, nais niya sanang buwagin na ang PhilHealth at palitan ng National Health Service para matanggal na ang lahat ng tauhan sa ahensya.
“Kung ako po ang tatanungin, yung aking bersyon ng universal health care, binuwag ko po yan. Nais ko sana palitan ng National Health Service kasi nga pag binuwag mo, puwede mong tanggalin lahat ng tao dyan, lahat ng bulok tatanggalin mo, mabilis po. E ngayon, kinakailangan mag-due process pa, kokorte korte pa sila. Sa akin po, yun po ang aking dahilan kung bakit ko gusto palitan ng NAtional Health Service pero hindi po nangyari yan kasi alam niyo naman bicameral tayo at sa Senado, isa sa awtor sa Senado ay si Senator Recto na siyang naging awtor ng PhilHealth law, pahayag ni Roque.
Isang abogado naman aniya si Pangulong Duterte at batid nito ang saklaw ng kanyang kapangyarihan.
“We can’t do anything because the allies want to help the President. But the President naman is a lawyer, he knows the scope of the Executive powers although there is a quality of powers between the three branches of government because the President exercises what is known as residual powers, we know that beyond theory, the President has the powers he needs to address the problems of the nation. Pero nagpapasalamat po kami sa suportang pinapakita syempre ng supporters at kaalyado ng ating Presidente,” pahayag ni Roque.
