Pilipinas, hindi mahuhuli sa bakuna sa COVID-19 – Sec. Duque

Siniguro ng Department of Health (DOH) na isa ang Pilipinas sa mauunang magkaroon ng bakuna para sa COVID-19 sakaling magkaroon na nito sa merkado.

Sa pagdinig ng House Committees on Public Accounts at Good Government and Public Accountability sa mga katiwalian sa PhilHealth, sinabi ni Health Sec. Francisco Duque III na mahigpit na nakabantay ang kagawaran pati na ang Department of Science and Technology (DOST) at World Health Organization (WHO) sa mga development sa COVID-19 vaccines ng iba’t ibang pharmaceutical companies sa mundo.

Mayroon aniyang 142 vaccine candidates ang nasa pre-clinical trial at 31 naman ang nasa human clinical trial stage na.

Samantala, pinatitiyak naman ni House Deputy Speaker Dan Fernandez ang maayos na distribution ng COVID-19 vaccine sa oras na available na ito sa bansa.

Kailangan aniya na i-regulate ng DOH ang logistical service providers upang sa gayon ay matiyak na hindi masasakripisyo ang efficacy at potency ng bakuna sa distribution process.

Sinabi ni Duque na kanilang titiyakin na mayroong certificate ng good distribution practice ang kukuning service providers.
