Emergency powers kay Pangulong Duterte para ayusin ang PhilHealth, pinag-aararalan na ng Kamara

Pinag-aaralan na ng Kamara ang pagbibigay ng emergency powers kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte upang ayusin ang Philippine Health Insurance Corporation o PhilHealth.

Sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Public Accounts at House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, sinabi ni Public Accounts chairman Mike Defensor na kanila na itong pinag-aaralan.

Kinatigan naman ito ni Health Sec. Francisco Duque III sa pagsasabing maganda ang pinaplano na ito nina Defensor upang sa gayon ay mapabilis ang pagpapatupad ng mga reporma sa loob ng PhilHealth.

Mababatid na sa mga nakalipas na pagdinig ng komite, naungkat ang iregularidad sa interim reimbursement mechanism (IRM) ng PhilHealth, na sinasabing ugat ng korapsyon sa loob ng state health insurer.

Sinabi ni Cavite Rep. Elpidio Barzaga na kanilang nakita sa mga isinagawang imbestigasyon ang samu’t saring paglabag sa implementasyon ng IRM.

Isa na aniya rito ang pagkakasama ng mga dialysis centers at birthing centers sa IRM kahit pa binuo ang IRM dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic na itinuturing na “fortuitous events.”
