P64.4-M halaga ng misdeclared cigarettes, nasabat ng BOC
Nasamsam ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Batangas ang misdeclared cigarettes na nagkakahalaga ng humigit-kumulang P64.4 milyon.
Dumating ang kargamento sa Port of Batangas mula sa Guangdong, China noong August 20.
Unang sinabi na naglalaman ang container ng plastic cabinets.
Ngunit sa isinagawang physical examination, natagpuang 1,631 master boxes ng Mighty at Marvel cigarettes ang laman nito.
Inirekomenda ni acting District Collector Rhea Gregorio ang paglalabas ng Warrant of Seizure and Detention laban sa shipment dahil sa paglabag sa Section 1400 “Misdeclaration, Misclassification, and Undervaluation in Goods Declaration” na may kinalaman sa Section 1113 “Property Subject Seizure and Forfeiture” ng Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
