Ito ay ukol sa hirit na temporary restraining order (TRO) ng TV network sa inilabas na cease and desist order ng NTC.
“According to the Court, in light of the supervising denial of the pending House Bills for the renewal of ABS-CBN Corporation’s legislative franchise on July 10, 2020, the Court finds it appropriate to dismiss the case on the ground of mootness,” ayon sa SC Public Information Office.
“Because of this supervening event, there is no actual substantial relief whic ABS-CBN Corporation would be entitled to regardless of the Court’s disposition of the merits of the Petition,” dagdag pa nito.
Ayon pa sa SC PIO, “unanimous” ang naging desisyon para ibasura ang petisyon maliban lamang kay Justice Priscilla Baltazar-Padilla dahil naka-leave ito.
Si Senior Associate Justice Estela Perlas-Bernabe ang nagsilbing Member-in-Charge sa nasabing petisyon.
