Grupo ng mga abogado hiniling na arestuhin ang “RevGov” proponents
Nanawagan ang isang public interest group na naghahangad na pagtibayin ang Konstitusyon sa mga public leader na gawin ang lahat para ipagtanggol ang Republika at ang Bandila laban sa ‘existential threat’ ng mga mapanghimagsik na grupo na nagsusulong sa ‘revolutionary government’ at hiniling sa mga awtoridad ang pag-aresto sa mga proponent at self-styled revolutionaries.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng mga abogado ng Tagapagtanggol ng Watawat na hindi sapat ang deklarasyon ng militar at pulisya na hindi nila sinusuportahan ang pagtutulak sa isang revolutionary government.
Ayon sa grupo, dapat ipatupad ng law enforcement agencies ang batas laban sa mga nagtatangkang ibagsak ang Konstitusyon.
“Calls for a Revolutionary Government are an existential threat to our Republic, an unspeakable abomination to our Democracy, a brazen affront to the Sovereign Filipino People,” pahayag ng grupo na binubuo nina Dean Jose Aguila Grapilon, Atty. Marlon Anthony R. Tonson at Atty. Arnel Victor C. Valeña.
Magugunitang sumulat ang grupong Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte National Executive Coordinating Committee—na kinatawan nina national coordinator for revolutionary government committee Bobby Brillante at national spokesperson Atty. Francisco ‘Arlene’ Buan—mismo kay Philippine National Police Chief Archie Gamboa upang humingi ng audience bilang paghahanda para sa in pAugust 22 assembly sa Clark Freeport.
Ang launching event ng MRRD-NECC sa Malolos City, Bulacan noong nakaraang July 25 ay dinaluhan ni Department of the Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Martin Diño, tulad ng nakita sa isang litrato na ipinost sa official Facebook page nito https://(https://www.facebook.com/mrrdneccrevgov/photos/rpp.108409724279694/122323726221627/).
Tinukoy ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque noong August 24 ang freedom of speech bilang dahilan ng hindi pag-aresto sa mga nagsusulong ng isang revolutionary government.
“Mayroon naman po silang karapatan ng malayang pamamahayag, so hayaan na po natin sila,” ani Roque.
Subalit iginiit ng Tagapagtanggol ng Watawat na ang panawagan para sa isang revolutionary government ay hindi ‘protected speech’, at hindi nakasaad sa Konstitusyon na nais ibagsak ng mga proponent.
“Such calls are made not by, nor of, nor for the Sovereign Filipino People,” paliwanag pa ng grupo.
“The ‘lukewarm response’ of government officials leave much wanting and demanded that they take action and protect and defend this Nation’s Constitution as they themselves have sworn to in their oaths of office.”
Binigyang-diin ng Tagapagtanggol ng Watawat na ang isang revolutionary government ay sasalungat sa Konstitusyon dahil layon nitong walisin ang “safeguards, checks and balances, at ang mga limitasyon sa State power.”
Binigyang diin pa ng grupo na, “all government authority emanates from the sovereign Filipino people and that leaders are selected by the people through elections, and not by other modes such as a revolutionary government, for we enthrone no kings.”
“As free citizens, we owe fealty to the Constitution alone, never to those ensconced in privilege nor to the transient occupants of public office,” ayon sa grupo. “Despots are anathema to our Democracy. We submit only to the rule of law, never to the rule of men.”
Nanawagan din ang grupo sa lahat ng mamamayang Filipino na ipagtanggol ang Republika at ang Bandila.
“As Filipino citizens, we all have sworn our allegiance—as articulated in our Panatang Makabayan—to the Philippines as symbolized by our nation’s flag, our Watawat. Ipagtanggol natin ang Republika ng Pilipinas, Ipagtanggol ang Watawat!” sabi ng grupo.
