Cashless transactions ipatutupad na sa lahat ng expressways ayon sa DOTr
Ipatutupad na ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ang cashless o contactless transactions sa mga expressway.
Layon nitong maiwasan ang lalo pang paglaganap ng COVID-19.
Sa pamamagitan ng cashless o contactless transactions ay masusunod ang physical distancing dahil limitado na ang human intervention at maari ding mabawasan ang mahabang pila sa toll plazas.
Inatasan na ni DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade ang lahat ng concerned agencies na buuin na ang proseso sa loob ng tatlong buwan.
Ang Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) ay pinagbubuo ng rules and regulations kung saan aatasan ang lahat ng concessionaires at operators ng toll expressways na sumunod sa fully transition sa electronic toll collection system.
Inatasan naman ang Land Transportation Office (LTO) na magsumite ng pag-aaral para sa pagpapatupad ng full cashless and contactless system sa mga expressways.
Habang ang Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), ay inatasan na bantayan ang pagsunod dito ng lahat ng Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) sa mandatory use o installation ng electronic tags o paggamit ng cashless systems sa kanilang sasakyan.
Ang contactless transactions ay ipatutupad sa South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (CAVITEX), North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), South Metro Manila Skyway, Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) Tollway, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX); at iba pang road networks.
