‘Mental support’ sa mga estudyante at guro, inihirit ni Sen. Gatchalian
Ipinaalala ni Senator Sherwin Gatchalian sa gobyerno na dapat mabigyan ng psycho-social and mental health support ang mga guro at estudyante bago ang muling pagsisimula ng mga klase.
Inihain ni Gatchalian ang Senate Bill No. 1565 o ang “Education in the Better Normal Bill” para sa maaaring gawing hakbang para sa ligtas na pagsisimula ng mga klase.
Batid ng senador na sa ikakasang blended learning system, hindi maaapektuhan ang kapakanan ng mga estudyante.
“The COVID-19 pandemic created a lot of mental stress for the students and their parents. We need to balance mental stress and the mental well-being of families. Many of them have already been experiencing a lot of stress—from livelihood, employment, and bringing food on their tables,” ayon sa namumuno sa Senate Committee on Basic Education.
Dagdag pa nito, nakasaad din sa kanyang panukala na kung walang guidance counselors sa mga paaralan, maaaring umakto ang mga guro.
Aniya, sasanayin ang mga guro para sila ay makapagbigay ng psycho-social first aid sa mga estudyante.
