Enrollees sa Alternative Learning System bumagsak

Nabawasan ng malaki ang mga enrollees ng Alternative Learning System (ALS) ngayong pasukan dahil pa rin sa epekto ng COVID-19.

Sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Sustainable Development, sinabi ni DEPED Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan na mula sa 739,872 enrollees noong 2019 ay halos kalahati ang ibinawas sa mga mag-aaral na nag-enroll na nasa 356,896 na lamang o katumbas ng 48.2% na pagbaba.

Paliwanag ni Malaluan, limitado ang kapasidad at galaw ng mga guro ng ALS ngayong COVID-19 pandemic kaya hirap din sila sa pagpapatupad ng remote o distance learning kumpara sa formal schooling.

Hindi aniya tulad ng formal learning kung saan kada baitang ang pag-progress ng isang magaaral, sa ALS naman ay oras na matapos ang buong programa ay diretso na sa equivalency test ang mga estudyante dito.

Dahil sa limitasyon ay hindi muna maipapatupad ngayong may pandemic ang Senior Highschool equivalency sa ALS.

nakapaloob kasi anya dito na skills training ngunit dahil sa kawalan ng face to face classes ay hindi uubra ang workshop-based skills training para dito. (Erwin Aguilon/RadyoINQUIRER)
