Bilang ng mga Pinoy na napauwi sa bansa mula Saudi Arabia, umabot na sa 24,000

Umabot na sa 24,000 ang bilang ng mga Pinoy na nakauwi sa bansa galing ng Saudi Arabia.

Bahagi ito ng pagpapauwi ng pamahalaan sa mga distressed OFWs ngayong panahon ng COVID-19 pandemic.

Ayon sa pahayag ng embahada ng Pilipinas sa Riyadh, 30 percent ng mga umuwing land-based OFWs sa Pilipinas ay mula sa Saudi Arabia.

Ngayong araw, isa 357 pang Pinoy mula Saudi ang uuwi sa bansa sakay ng ika-pitong chartered flight ng pamahalaan mula sa nasabing bansa.

Maliban sa DFA chartered flights, halos araw-araw din ang commercial flights ng PAL at Saudia Airlines na nag-uuwi sa mga Pinoy.

Sa abiso ng embahada ang mga Pinoy na mayroon nang exit visas at walang kakayahang bumili ng tickets ay maaring mag-request ng repatriation assistance sa embahada.
